Not all countries are independent. Infact, there is a good amount of counties that are having protests againsted there lead country, take Georgia for example
But before tell you about their coat of arms, let me tell you the history.
South Ossetia had declaired independence from Georgia in the year of 1990. But the Georgia disagreed on the matter. The government of Georgia had declaired war to take back the controll of the reagon. Then the South Ossetia was born. This was had lasted one year, in the years of 1991-1992. But the war was far from being a democratic peacful regime. Conflicts raged out in 2004, and 2008. But finally, the Russian and Ossetian separatists gained full comtroll of the former independent land. Only a handfull of countries consider South Ossetia as a independent land, but the Georgia thinks not. They consider it as a reagon of Georgia, but now is a dependent territory of Russia sort to say. Just like Guam and the U.S.A. They can govern there territory, but is reliant of the greater territory.

Wrote in Russian, are the words:
“Republic of South Ossetia” (Translated)
The seven mountains in the backround repreasent the landscape of the area, and the snow lepord is there iconic symbol. It means so to say the Guard and the power of South Ossetia. But they are not an independent republic.
What do I think of it? The emblem in my opinion is nice. I like the the waves on the edge of it. Even though there not waves, I like how it resembles the color variation. The only thing that I am having troubble takeing in is the mountains. If i were to desighn it, I would make the mountains look more natural.
